An appearance by the Mu Pa (Wild Boars) football team on The Ellen DeGeneres Show will screen in Thailand tonight from 8 pm on TrueVisions’ Lifetime channel.
“There was no story more captivating this summer than the Thai soccer team trapped in a cave. This Monday, they’re all here” DeGeneres posted on social media.
It’s the highest profile international TV appearance so far for the 12 young footballers, who have been touring Los Angeles for the past few days after having been in Argentina.
Last week the Mu Pa players attended a match between the Los Angeles Football Club and the Houston Dynamo where they were honoured and decked out with LAFC scarves.
In Argentina they were present at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 opening ceremony, where they stood and gave a ‘wai’ to a cheering crowd.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach, in his opening address, said the Mu Pa footballers had shown determination and bravery during their cave ordeal, qualities of great athletes that help in all facets of life. He said the IOC had invited the young Thai team to Argentina to share their experiences with other athletes.
